Tricks and Treats from Sept PR HQ

October 17th, 2011

Halloween is coming up and even if you are not a believer of this holiday it is alright to indulge and have fun with your outfit! Halloween is not just about dressing up as your favorite cartoon character or in some bizarre creation; there are going to be a lot of themed parties, providing the perfect opportunity for you to add your stylish twist to celebrations.  Whatever the dress code make sure you always add your own personal touch to the occasion.

During some plotting and planning at the Sept PR headquarters we decided it would be our duties to share some Halloween tips with you that will give you  inspiration or at the very least, a nod to the right direction.

What to wear?

Glam it up this Halloween with this black dress splattered with gold from GlamOnYou paired with a pair of patent leather heels – you are sure to be the sparkle of the party!

Dare to be adventurous with your outfit choice!  Tired of dressing up as witch, cat or devil?  Halloween costumes don’t need to be cliché, consider investing in bold statement pieces which add the spook factor to an elegant ensemble.  We love Alexander McQueen’s peep toe skull heels – the ultimate in gothic glamour!

If you’re going for a 50s, 60s or 70s, inspired look do not over do it. Pick one particular strong style and focus on it. Keeping make up to a minimal, use nude colors and focus on creating the ultimate hair style or wowing with on-trend make up – we’re thinking beehives and Bardot eyes.

If you are going to create your own costume please be creative and stay away from squeezing yourself into children’s costumers. Please.

Where to go?

Celebrate All Hallows  Eve with friends!  Choose a fun venue to party the night away with your favorite ghosts and goblins.  Our sources tell us that OKKU luxury restaurant and lounge is set to host another legendary Halloween party this year so watch this space!

Trick or treating maybe? (Forever young).

Host a party at your home, but don’t forget to invite your neighbours too or they may get a fright when they see your costumed friends arrive at your building.

If you’re not in the mood to party (hmmm…) then you can always have a night in and enjoy a scary movie marathon.

What to eat?

Chocolate cobweb cupcakes

Pumpkin cheesecake

A cauldron full of punch

Chocolate, ice cream and candy

Candy corn

Black & orange colored anything

Have a happy Halloween all and do send us some pics from your night.

Love, the Sept PR Team

Destination Unknown

October 26th, 2011

At Sept PR we firmly believe that  Eid should be celebrated with your friends and family and it also offers the opportunity to  treat yourself to a fabulous holiday!

We have gladly come up with a lst of travel destinations (some close and some far) for you to indulge in this Eid holiday or for your next break. Check out or top locations and travel tips.

Destination; Oman – Muscat

We are anticipating the opening of Missoni hotel in Muscat, but in the meantime one of our favorite resorts to stay at there is the Shangri La Barr Al Jissah, made up of 3 different resorts ( 4-5-7 star) all up to impeccable standards . The hotel is nestled between the rugged mountains of Oman alongside the Al Jissah bay and it’s a great place to relax, unwind and just enjoy nature and the beautiful oceans of Muscat. Nearby there is a sea activities center where you can go out on excursions; fishing, snorkeling, diving, jet skiing and such. Otherwise you can enjoy the many services the spas at the hotels offer or just chill out at the beach or by the pool. What we love about this place is that there are so many different activities, shops, cafes and restaurants all around you that you don’t really have to leave the resort! All you need is a great group of friends and you are bound to have one of the best holidays ever!

As for exploring the city we urge you to head out to Muttrah Souq and why not visit the incredible Royal Oprah house that just opened?

P.S We hear that Kate Moss actually went there with a group of girl friends recently and had a blast!

Destination : South East Asia

Despite the flooding in the north, Southeast Asia is still a great destination for an amazing holiday. Only five and a half hours into BKK Airport and then Asia is your proverbial oyster.

Head to the southern part of Thailand; Krabi, Phuket, Phi Phi for some incredible beaches, excellent food, diving, rock climbing or just to chill out and read a good book. There are some fantastic boutique hotels down there and a personal Sept favorite is The Cliff in Krabi ( ); voted ‘One of the top 50 most beautiful resorts in Thailand’. It’s an incredible boutique hotel with a limestone pool, Thai style villas and superb service! What more could you want!?

Destination : Staycation ?

If you’re trying to save some Dirhams or the thought of hours spent travelling does not appeal, why not opt for a cozy staycation this Eid break?  A staycation is essentially where you spend time relaxing in your own home and provides the ideal opportunity to reconnect with your city and explore.  Plan an itinerary of sights, galleries, shops or restaurants you want to visit, friends you’ve been meaning to catch up with, errands you want to run, but most of all – enjoy the chance to simply chill.

Staycationing has been the choice of Recessionistas for a couple of seasons now so give it a try; you never know what treasures you’ll uncover on your own doorstep!

Sept PR Travel Tips

  1. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!  Water, coconut water, watermelon etc  whatever is high in water and low in sugar is a good and delicious choice!
  2. Wear loose & comfortable clothing. Yes you can look very cute and be comfortable at the same time. You do not want to be uncomfortable wearing tight clothes whilst travelling.
  3. Use moisturizers, mists  and  lip balms to keep your skin hydrated in the air. A lot of people recommend Elizabeth Arden’s 8 hour cream as the perfect travel potion.
  4. Always have gum on hand.
  5. Please try to smell good all the time while flying. The plane is a small, closed place and a spritz of perfume or cologne will have you feeling fresh. Not too much though, or you’ll have your fellow passengers reaching for the oxygen masks!
  6. Have a book or magazine with you  for instant entertainment whenever, wherever.
  7. Sit back, relax and enjoy the ride with a smile on your face.

Love and safe travels.

We ♥ UAE

November 17th, 2011

December 2 will mark the 40th Anniversary of the unification of the United Arab Emirates – a reason to celebrate the place we all call home. The team at Sept HQ pulled together some of the reasons why we adore this place, here are our top 7:

  • The sun always shines!  Yes the summer is typically off-the-chart hot but the cooler winters are worth the wait.  As well as aiding us in topping up our healthy glow sunshine has other hidden benefits—like protecting against depression, insomnia, and an overactive immune system – making us happy, tanned and healthy! (Just don’t forget your sunscreen!)
  • Food, glorious food!  We are always amazed at the array of wonderful eateries across the UAE, ranging from 5-star luxury cuisine to the tasty treats sold by vendors in the souqs.  At Sept HQ we work with some of the leading restaurants in the region and have developed a passion for food so Dubai provides us with the ideal setting to get our culinary fix.
  • A cultural melting pot, the UAE has a diverse history and is called home by scores of different nationalities.  We love the wide spectrum of people living and working across the Emirates and are always learning about new languages, cultures, cuisines…and dare I say driving methods!
  • You can dive, dive and dive – OK so the UAE doesn’t boast the best dive sites in the world, but at least you can still get wet pretty much all year just to keep the skills up. We are lucky enough to have a few decent wrecks around and the dive company’s here (Al Boom and Pavillion in particular) offer courses, specialties and local dives pretty much 365, 24/7 so get signed up for your Open Water if you haven’t done so already and then the underwater world is your proverbial oyster.
  • You can drive, drive, drive – let’s face it there is something really fun about taking a 4×4 out to the desert and testing your mettle against the ever shifting sands. It’s nice that you can still drive out of the main city for 20 minutes and be completely alone (the equivalent of a country walk or drive anywhere else I guess) to enjoy some of the desert scenery. Deserts can be quite beautiful and the hypnotic dunes are a great place to get out of the hustle and bustle and mess around with friends. Now that the weather is good, take a picnic or bbq and enjoy what is almost quite literally on most of our back doors!
  • An international hub for all, the UAE is   conveniently located between the East and West, so jet settting, easy access to well-loved tourism destinations, communications and seeing different people from all over the world is the norm.
  • Childhood memories – This is the country we witnessed grow under his patronage Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may his soul rest in peace. We witnessed the UAE’s transformation over the past four decades and we are proud to be part of its history.

Happy Birthday UAE!

New Year New Trends !

January 2nd, 2012

The Sept PR Team brings you our list of what we think the hottest trends and must have gadgets, cars, holidays and gizmos of 2012 will be. In other words, we are going to tell you what we believe all you fabulous people should be doing or getting in the next year. If someone claims you are so “last year” we will not be held responsible!

These two fashion trends are our top pick for 2012! So let us know what you think…

  • What do these three things have in common? Coco Chanel, Jazz , The Great Gatsby? Most probably the style influencers of the 1920s! 1920’s style trends look like they’re going to be hot this year too. From flapper dresses as seen on the Dior and Reem Acra runways to beading, fringing, short bobs and feathered head bands – we love this look!
  • We hear fashion styles from the 1960s are making a comeback for 2012 too! As seen in Burberry’s latest collection think mod dresses, bright block colors, geometric and art deco patterns, coats and capes and peter pan collars. As for the shoes, ladies we can make masculine penny loafers look gorgeous any time of the day!

Beauty Trends

  • It’s all about looking effortlessly sexy this year as seen by models and socialites like Bridget Bardot, Twiggy and Edie Sedgwick. You want to focus on neutral colors, sun kissed skin, pink lips and a strong dramatic eye.
  • For eyes line the top lid with black kohl baring in mind that you want a simple flick at the end for the cat eye look then cover with two coats of mascara. Focus on highlighting the eye sockets with a beige, gold khaki color. As for the lips a light pink. Check out Burberry Iconic runway make up look tutorial at
  • For hair we are seeing a lot of French twists, wavy bouncy hair, side parts, mod bobs and afros! Something to suit every personality, 2012 looks like it is going to be one exciting year for hair trends.

  • Not too cliché to be your New Year resolution,  you know you want to be healthier this coming year or at least try to have better eating habits. What do we recommend?  Japanese food and diet! Research shows that it is one of the best diets around the world. Japanese food is naturally low in fat, rich in nutrients and contains plenty of fish so you will be getting your healthy dose of Omega 3 and 6 oils.
  • Our favorite restaurant destination? OKKU Luxury Japanese Restaurant & Lounge. You will thank us after trying their selections of fish carpaccio and their miso glazed black cod!

  • January marks the month whereby most people resolve to pick up a new hobby, and stick to it.  With so much pressure to find a sport that you actually enjoy why not look beyond buying a simple gym membership and committing to a more exciting activity? The team at Sept HQ is loving dancing away the calories to Zumba beats, playing horse polo in the desert, combining pilates and boxing in ‘Piloxing’, or attending a ‘Kangaroo Jumps’ class – complete with specially created pogo trainers.

  • We predict that when it comes to holidays, mini-breaks will feature heavily in our 2012 travel plans.  The rise of low cost airplane carriers here in the Middle East means that it has never been easier to hop on a flight and be transported to a new world in just a couple of hours. On our doorstep are places such as Doha – the Museum of Islamic Art is a must see, Muscat – the Royal Opera House will have you singing with delight and Beirut – the region’s ever popular party destination.

  • After being spoilt rotten with gadgets this Christmas there’s been quite a lot of Googling about what new techy bits and pieces are coming up for 2012, so here’s a quick list of what we have to look forward to over the coming few months. Keep eyes peeled for the new iPad 3 that is set to launch in the first half of this year following the launch of the official iPhone 5 this February. These will take a little longer to filter down into the smaller markets such as ours, but there will be some grey market goods for sale in no time, undoubtedly at a massive premium. Both are supposed to be big leaps forward in terms of performance and functions with the iPad having improved resolution, processing power and an SD card slot! The iPhone will have an 8MP flash camera, better memory and a rumoured three antennas no less, which is probably to safeguard against the previous models that were plagued by the ‘antenna death grip’ whereby if they were held a certain way you wouldn’t get any reception.

  • Speaking of improved tech, 2012 will be an interesting year in the auto world as all the big players seem to be bringing out hybrid cars. OK, there is definitely something to be said about lowering emissions, but I think a little bit of the magic is lost in a car that purrs instead of roars…Look out for the following on the Sheikh Zayed Road, or cruising down the beach road of a weekend, which promise some exhaust note opera; the new Audi S8 that will feature a smaller force fed V8 as opposed to the Lambo derived V10, which was a peach, the new McLaren MP4-12C, which is now on sale in the Middle East and the four door Ferrari FF with four seats and four wheel drive!

Foods we L❤VE

January 10th, 2012

“There is no love sincerer than the love of food”

George Bernard Shaw 1856-1950

Since it is the start of the New Year and we are feeling super generous we decided to share with you some of our favorite foods! Hope you enjoy them as much as we do.

Bubble Tea: Bubble tea a fun tea drink made with different variations of tea, fruit syrups or even milk. The most popular bubble tea drink the “Pearl Milk Tea” which has small chewy bits of tapioca in them therefore the name “Pearls”!

Did you know that Dubai is getting its own independent Bubble tea shop? Bubbles & Boba is opening soon at our favorite shopping destination Dubai Mall, and is going to have a fantastic range of Bubble tea flavors that will not disappoint! We have a feeling that the bubble tea craze will get massive and the drink is going to be Dubai’s most sought out beverage for 2012 ….counting days till the opening check out their website at !

Chocolate: Where do we begin with the wonderful things chocolate can do to you? From being such a delightful treat in your mouth to the wonderful effects it can have to your heart and mind! Did you know that most chocolates (especially dark) are made from cocoa, a type of plant, and contain falvanoids which act like anti-oxidants. This has also been proven to help reduce blood pressure and protects your heart from disease.  Other than that, did you know that pure chocolate simulates our endorphin production hormone which gives us a feel good vibe and also acts like an anti-depressant! (Always have chocolate in your office drawer and indulge in your guilty pleasure on a regular basis, it’s good for you!).

Sept PR top chocolate picks: Any kind of good quality dark chocolate! We like Green & Blacks organic chocolates.

Japanese food: Yes, Sept HQ has voted and we all love Japanese cuisine! There’s something about its simplicity, delicacy and the ingredients used that makes it almost everybody’s favorite.  What makes Japanese food more appealing is that it is one of the healthiest types of cuisines out there. Japanese dishes usually consist of rice which is a low-fat complex carb (better alternative than bread or pasta) and helps fill you up! Japanese cuisine also uses a variation of vegetables, not to forget types of seaweed, which are very nutritious. One other benefit of Japanese cuisine is its heavy dependence on fish! Most Japanese dishes consist of a fish base, usually salmon, mackerel or fresh tuna – all a great source of Omega 3 fatty acids which are wonderful for your heart and mind.

Our top pick? Best in town has to be OKKU Luxury Japanese Restaurant and Lounge. We love the eclectic menu of dishes with a modern twist and the Supper Club vibe on Sundays and Thursdays is electric.

Seafood: The French call seafood “fruits de mer”, fruits of the sea, and they have every reason to do so! Fish is one of the healthiest types of proteins out there – lean, low in fat and types like tuna and salmon are rich in essential Omega 3 and 6 oils which are crucial for good health. Fish is also the best type of protein for fat burning and has other essential minerals such as iron, magnesium, zinc and potassium! Now what if we told you there is one spot that combines divine of Italian cuisine with sea food!

Our Pick : BiCE Mare Souq Al Bahar

Steaks: From our beginnings as cave people grilling meat over a fire, our fondness for steak is still going strong. Beef is an excellent source of protein, selenium, zinc and vitamin B12.  Making the perfect steak is harder than it looks, it comes down to having the freshest and best quality meat, perfect preparation, and the cooking technique. Then we have the process and the way it is cooked and more importantly using the right sauce!

Our pick:  Legends Steak House at Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht club. Sept’s Favorite Fruits: Delicious and super healthy what’s not to love

Rambutans! Grown in Thailand, Malaysia, Philippines and Indonesia rambutans are small, reddish and hairy! But once you peel their skin off your for a juicy, delish treat! Rambutans are similar lychees and are our favorite treat to eat all year round. Especially when they are cold! Rambutans are also high in Vitamin C, manganese, copper and have traces of iron and calcium.

Mangosteen fever! Can never get enough of these delicious fruits! Sources say that mangosteens have been used in traditional South East Asian medicine for hundreds of years! Rich in anti-oxidants this fleshy fruit is also rich in Vitamin C, a modern source of B-complex vitamins and also contains potassium, magnesium and manganese.

Bitten By The Love Bug

January 24th, 2012

Valentine’s Day, what’s not to love? It is after all the day of love and all things sugar and spice. Make sure Valentine’s Day this year is not just a day for your loved one or spouse but a day to pamper and love yourself. In the end it is all about you. Sept PR V-day tips are as follows:

-          Try to wear something bright red, hot pink, bright coral or even pretty pastel for the occasion. It is fun, cute and you deserve to stand out on this day! If you are not comfortable with doing a full on red shirt or skirt opt for a bright red accessory like shoes, bow tie, head scarf , bag…you get the picture. Carry around a red or pink flower all day if you must! (Men - check out Kanye West rocking a red bow).

Our Picks:

1. We love the Nino dress from GlamOnYou baby pink, one shoulder cuteness.

2.  Two Words ; Christian Louboutin

3. The Monte Carlo Rouge lipstick from Chanel

-          Pick the perfect Valentine’s Day gift for your loved one and avoid clichés if you can. If you are short on time chocolates and flowers will do, but please make them super special from a florist like Bliss on Palm Jumeirah. Why not gift a loved one an iPad adorned with a red cover, a Valentine’s Day hamper for your best friend! (complete with soppy chick flick DVD, pink truffle chocolates, cashmere socks and perhaps even a framed photo of you two together)

Our Gift Picks:  Charbonnel et walker truffles –

-          If you have no plans to go out; cook at home or, better yet, head to your local delicatessen and pick up some tapas for your very own at home picnic..  This applies to everyone, whether you are spending V-day sprawled up on your couch or going out to party hard. Our top recipe for this special day Salted Double Chocolate Peanut Butter Cookies!

Our recipe pick:

-          Who said Valentine’s Day was a couple’s thing? It can be between two best friends,  or for just you! Why not book a spa date with your best friend or book a scrumptious dinner somewhere fabulous ensuring you look fantastic decked out in red and wearing a flirty smile.

Buon Appetito!

February 12th, 2012

Who would have thought cooking could be so fun and therapeutic? Team Sept was at the BiCE Mare Pasta Master Class on Wednesday and it was one unforgettable, fun filled day! We will even go as far as to say that we are fully–fledged pasta connoisseurs.

BiCE Mare’s award winning Executive Chef Francesco Guarracino leads the cooking classes – which will now take place on a monthly basis – teaching food lovers how to cook exquisite Italian dishes with passion. The class we took part in was all about making pasta from scratch (three ingredients – Tipo ’00′ flour, eggs and a pinch of salt) and learning the different techniques and shapes that one can make with pasta dough. The Chef was on site making sure no one got into any major gastronomical catastrophes! The monthly cooking classes will continue with something new to learn every single time!

After all the cooking, the kneading of dough and messes made, we were treated to a fine Italian meal prepared specially by the Chef. Oh “ La Vita e Bella”!

What Is A Girl To Wear?

February 29th, 2012

Dubai World Cup, Concerts, Festivals and more! What is a girl to wear? We pick out our top 4 looks!

Stand out from the crowds in floral, bright prints like those seen on DKNY’s 2012 runway collection and recently spotted on Tala Samman at London Fashion Week. ( Check out Tala here

Getting inspiration from the latest March issue of Elle Sweden; Mona Johansson looks stunning in all of the wardrobe choices. Our pick is this skirt, crop top and jacket combo. Go for something unconventional and add a 50s glam hair style!

Preppy is always adorable so why not try this unconventional look? Inspired by Australian fashion house Gorman their Summer collection is just too cute! Try a colorful stripy dress paired with a structured blazer and cute matching socks under your sandals! (Honestly, we are not as daring to try it out but looks good on the Gorman model)

Like to keep it plain and simple? Opt for fitted structured pieces; our inspiration is the Daniella Christina S/S ’12 look book with this cute white and a black structured blazer!

Spring break in the USA? Why not!

April 15th, 2012

Blog post by Nouf Al Bastaki, Sept PR’s Intern Extraordinaire!

One week, nine students and three states, a memorable experience indeed. New York, Washington DC and Delaware are three spectacular states, each unique and different. The Global Agenda course at Zayed University Dubai focuses on video conferencing with a class at the University of Delaware, on political and media related topics such as perceptions of the US and Middle East. As part of the course we had the chance to visit the United States and attend a few lectures at the University of Delaware. Sounds like a boring trip? Not at all! We visited a number of iconic places, from the tallest building in New York, the Empire State Building, to the open greenery of Central park.

New York was one of my favourite places to visit. The city that never sleeps. Wouldn’t you love having the view of Time Square from your hotel room window! I miss that! Surely a location you’d never get bored of, seeing new faces and people doing the most random things. Taking pictures with people dressed up like Spiderman or Batman, it’s just so much fun!

Visiting Washington DC was amazing too. The sweet feeling of walking through the European themed city, planned and designed by the French architect, Pierre Charles L’Enfant. The White House, the UAE Embassy and the Lincoln Memorial are places worth visiting. “The Lincoln Memorial is not a playground!” a security guard says in anger, while some of my classmates used a slope as a slide.

Did you know that Delaware is the first state to sign the Union for the United States? Delaware is one of the smallest states, given the name the “university town”, because most of the population living in Delaware are students attending the university. Delaware is a nice, quiet place, it’s very different from New York and Washington.

Ooh La La Oscar!

April 16th, 2012

The team at Sept HQ was treated this week to a preview tasting of the new menu dishes at Oscar’s Vine Society at Crowne Plaza, lucky us!

And from April 23rd you too can create your own escape to the South of France as Oscar’s Dubai has revamped their space to evoke traditional  Provencal charm right here in Dubai! The quaint restaurant provides a charming setting inspired by the South of France and offers a wide range of different foods that will surely satisfy your taste buds and make you come back for more!  All the produce, the aromas, tastes and colors that inspire Provencal cuisine have been brought into town by Oscar’s to offer you a unique experience.

Fresh artisan bread baked in house, a wide range of goat’s cheeses shipped from the Provence and roasted corn fed chicken all bursting with color and flavor are just some of the options! Did we mention there’s an olive tree inside there too?

Bon appétit!

The Life of an Intern

April 19th, 2012

Blog post by Nouf Al Bastaki, Sept PR’s Intern Extraordinaire!

Let’s get right to it; shuffling between internship and university studies is a tough one!

Each day is planned accordingly and having a list of tasks, whether on paper or mentally in your head, is necessary to get as much done during the day. Being a senior in university, all I want is to end this experience with good grades, especially since the final courses are all advanced and require a lot of effort. But having internship three times a week and classes two times a week, makes it slightly more difficult to manage between them. I woke up today, got ready and drove myself half way to university, realizing it was an internship day… true story!

Majoring in Public Relations and interning at Sept PR is exciting! Getting a chance to see how things work in the PR world is great in learning more about the job. It’s important to choose an internship that matches your major or career interests. Observing what goes on around you helps in understanding the way things work.

Internships are a great experience; it’s like putting your toe into the pool to check its temperature before completely jumping in, but in this case, the pool is the real world of work. The big tip when being an intern; don’t hide behind your desk and laptop, instead, move around and take on different tasks and ask questions; because this is the time you learn and experience what will happen in the world of work. At the end, internship will be on your resume, but it’s up to you to decide on what you want to learn from the experience and go for it!

Pretty in Pastels!

April 22nd, 2012

One trend that we adore this season is the lovely hues of pastels that are gracing both catwalk and Dubai’s Fashionistas.  Taking inspiration from the likes of Louis Vuitton and Mulberry, soft pinks, lilacs, baby blues and mint greens are our must have colour fix of choice.  Pretty, delicate and feminine with a nostalgic nod to our favourite things (like macaroons, ice cream and summer) we are wearing the colours from head to toe including nail varnish, denim capris, wedges, hair bows and tote bags.

After the fashion show guests had the chance to look at Reemami’s key designs up close as the models mingled with the invitees. It was great to see two completely different organizations work together and create an exciting and fun event, all in aid of a wonderful cause… Sept loves!

How To Start The Day The Sept PR Way

June 27th, 2012

Your morning routine is pretty important and can determine how the rest of your day goes. Here at Sept HQ we try our best to make sure everyone has a balanced, morning ritual that puts a smile on their face and helps make their day!

We went around the office and did some research and came up with a list of tips on how to have a great start to your day:

  • Get up, do some stretches, smile and tell yourself today is going to be a great day and be thankful for everything you have.
  • Drink a glass of water as soon as you wake up this will help hydrate your cells. You may also like to try a glass of hot water with the juice of half a lemon. It helps alkalize your system, cleans up your intestines and helps wake up your brain. Make sure you stay hydrated during the day – drinking water is not enough remember to eat lots of fruits and vegetables as well!
  • If you are feeling super sleepy and lazy hop in for a cold shower use a minty soap or shower gel which will help wake you up. Singing in the shower is fun too!
  • Make sure that you protect your skin by putting on sun lotion after your shower or use a moisturizer with SPF.
  • Take your beautiful dog out for a walk on the beach, preferably bare foot. No dog? Take yourself out for a brisk morning walk on the beach!
  • We’re sure you’ve heard it before, but breakfast really is the most important meal of the day and will provide you with the energy to take you through to lunch.  Try a bowl of porridge with berries or indulge in scrambled eggs with smoked salmon.
  • The clothes you wear can boost your mood and make you feel fabulous.  So put on those new heels or shoes  and dress or suit and make the world your runway!

Love, Sept HQ x

Fall / Winter Trends

September 9th, 2012

Velvet and Silk

The key trends this Fall/Winter are definitely baroque, velvet and leather.
Golden details and rich fabrics are key if you want to channel the baroque look. Wear this trend for a night out as it might be a bit much during the day, unless you are planning on going to Fashion Week of course! The best brand out there doing baroque this season is Dolce and Gabanna.

Velvet this season doesn’t have to be associated with Gothic fashion, it’s for everybody. Velvet is feminine and soft and complements the baroque trend perfectly giving it an even more luxurious look.

Leather is always in fashion but just gets trendier each season. This Fall/Winter expect a lot of leather coats and skirts, and for the true fashionista why not try an all leather look mixing different types of leather?

Stimulate The Mind

October 2nd, 2012

The highly anticipated ‘Rest Upon the Wind’ will be wowing audiences in Dubai this month following a sold out stint on London’s West End, and we for one are extremely excited.

The play written by famed Jordanian writer Nadim Sawalha is based on the life and times of one of the Middle East’s most influential writers, Khalil Gibran. The main focus being his struggle to deliver a message of peace and virtuous living to his fellow man during times of personal turmoil. The play is set in Boston, where Gibran’s family is dealing with the huge transition from a very troubled Lebanon, whilst Gibran is also facing financial difficulties and a struggle to succeed as both a writer and a painter.

Considering the multi-cultural hub that is Dubai, the concept of being immersed in a new culture, and feeling like a fish out of water should strike true for most audience members. The performances have received compliments for the close-knit family ties and humor one would expect of a typical Arabic family, displayed in the relationship between Gibran and his sister.

As the third best selling poet of all time and writer of ‘The Prophet’, audience members are sure to be enlightened by gaining an insight into his life. BOLDtalks events are renowned for bringing thought-provoking, intellectual entertainment options to the region, and this play is guaranteed to promote discussion.

Keep Halloween Happy!

October 23rd, 2012

Halloween is nearly upon us and we are super excited here in the Sept PR office. As residents of Dubai rarely require a reason to get their party shoes out, when there is an actual occasion, we go all out! So don’t be shy, this is your time to shine like the bright star that you are – whether you want to be a princess, scary witch or a super villain!

Many of you, the ones who are as Halloween obsessed as us, will have already picked out your outfits or at least have an idea of what you are going to rock up to your party of choice wearing. If you are still undecided however, let us give you a little inspiration and more importantly a list of what NOT to wear.

Halloween Tips from Sept HQ
As regulars on the Halloween party circuit, we have seen just about everything here at Sept PR HQ, so we have compiled a list to fill you in on some of the cringe worthy choices that it’s best to avoid.

Dress to suit your body shape: Yes we know Halle Berry looked amazing in her Catwoman outfit, but keep in mind she probably trained for a year to fit into it. So, if you have had one too many naughty treats it’s best to stay clear of the Britney Spears outfit that fit you when you were 16.

Dressing as a Celebrity: So this is one of the simpler options that requires little effort, however it’s best to think old Hollywood glamour and avoid dressing like Kim Kardashian or Snooki from Jersey Shore. Keep in mind that people rarely want to see these celebrities themselves, so they surely don’t care if you dress as one.

Predictability: It’s always best to show your creativity at this time of year, don’t be predictable. If you went as a corpse bride last year with a face covered in white face paint, go glamorous this year, let your outfit do the talking and keep the make-up to a minimum. Check out the gorgeous dress above, a bit of gothic inspired style from one of our favorite Dubai boutiques, GlamOnYou, that is sure to attract attention for all the right reasons.

Make it a Weekend: This year All Hallow’s Eve falls on a Wednesday, so this is the perfect opportunity to make a weekend of it. Why not party right on through to Saturday. Our favorite award-winning luxury Japanese restaurant and lounge, OKKU, will be serving up their famous delicacies and some very interesting cocktails in a Halloween inspired setting on both Wednesday and Thursday night. Guarantee yourself a night of fun and frolics mingling with some of Dubai’s elite.

Happy Trick or Treating,
Love from all at Sept HQ.

Well it’s time to get OUT, the temperatures have finally abated and the weather is once again glorious. So let the SEPT PR Team fill you in on the best ways to enjoy this marvelous season.

What to Wear:  Everybody loves a good beach party and what can be more relaxing than sunbathing with your nearest and dearest whilst cruising around on a yacht? GlamOnYou, the Dubai based fashion house that has taken Dubai by storm, has the most glamorous resort collection for 2013. This collection features stunning bikinis, gorgeous kaftans and glorious maxi dresses which are guaranteed to make the wearer feel like a globetrotting goddess. What to do:  What better way to spend your evenings than getting some feel good endorphins from a touch of outdoor exercise. Emirates Golf Club on the Dubai Creek offer energetic Padel Tennis classes on three different courts. Whether you want to hone the skills you already possess, or get the know-how from one of their trained professionals, this is one not to miss. Feel the Burn…

Where to Go: Treks to the beach with the whole family in tow can be quite stressful, lack of proper toilet facilities, showers and nice places to eat being just some of the difficulties. Bring along the whole family and with no entrance fee, you are simply paying for your sun loungers for the day in one of the most idyllic settings in Dubai. The food options are delicious and there is a temperature controlled pool if you don’t fancy getting covered in sand. Why not go there as early as possible and hit up Sophie’s Gastro cafe for a delectable, healthy breakfast that will kick start your day. To the Palm…

What to Eat: If you have guests over to visit or you simply want to switch up your habitual dining schedule, make sure to check out Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club. They are now offering many new concepts which are sure to delight, namely The Boardwalk BBQ Donut and The Terrace Table Grill. The BBQ Donut is Dubai’s newest culinary delight, offering you the opportunity to dine with friends and family whilst soaking up the beautiful views floating on the creek.  The Terrace Table Grill allows guests the option of either grilling their own food or having a professional chef prepare your meal. Distinctive Delicious Aromas in Dubai Mall

December 5th, 2012

It’s the most recognizable smell in the world, vital for the smooth day to day running of many offices the world over and most of us can admit that we would be lost without it, it is of course coffee!

There are innumerable options available for a standard cup of coffee in this city, however keep in mind that when coffee is done properly it can be heavenly.

That’s where Caffé Vergnano 1882 steps in as the outlet has officially opened its doors in Dubai with a bang, following a fantastic launch in Dubai Mall last week. This is not just any café, it is Italy’s oldest privately owned roaster with a rich 130 year history.

Its award winning anniversary 1882 blend of coffee contains seven different single origin beans from across the globe, including the highly sought after Nicaraguan Maragogype, which is known for its bold flavour with citrus and chocolate notes.

What’s more, the delicious coffee has been commended by top chefs and food critics around the world. Giles Coren has given them the ultimate compliment, he wrote: “Caffè Vergnano sells the best coffee I’ve ever drunk, anywhere.” Gordon Ramsay has described it as “a remarkably sublime coffee.”

The new store is stunning and is in keeping with the traditional Italian concept whilst also being harmonious with Dubai Mall’s modern architecture.  “The Dubai boutique stays true to its Italian heritage with all of the furniture and equipment coming over from specialist manufacturers in Italy and the sleek and modern interiors are ideal for such a dynamic and design focused city,” said Camille E. Aoun, Director of Business Development of Al Jassim Group – which owns and operates multiple international hospitality brands around the Middle East including Caffè Vergnano 1882.

To say that we were impressed by the techniques of their Baristas would be an understatement, we watched in awe as they created stunning designs on the most delicious coffee in Dubai. Heaven in a cup…

There is also a delectable selection of Italian treats to devour, from salads to pastas and desserts. If you are only in the mood for a light bite, there are a number of pastries and cakes. For something more substantial there are pastas, sandwiches and a number of Italian specialities that are sure to go down a treat!  Ciao Bella…..

Just recently the team came to Middle East to get a taste of the region where a large number of their fans reside. Matches was founded by Tom and Ruth Chapman in 1984 and started as a luxury  fashion store in London. Matches now operates 14 stores as well as having a huge international online presence showcasing  pieces from some of the most iconic designers in the world from Alexander McQueen  to YSL. It is safe to say that even after all this time,  Matches still keeps the customer close to its heart

Over with the Matches team was the wonderful Natalie Kingham  (a senior buyer for as well as the talented  Peter Pilotto and Christopher De Vos of Peter Pilotto.  It was an extremely busy few days with a packed media schedule from photo shoots to interviews to even more interviews! In the end though, the hard work truly did pay off!

The Official Launch party  for the Middle East was held at the elegant and fashionable Art Space Gallery in DIFC. Star guests Pete Pilotto and Christopher De Vos joined us on this wonderful evening and showed off some gorgeous pieces from their Autumn/Winter 2013 Collection.

The room was filled with luxuriously crafted  signature Pilotto prints which guests enjoyed admiring whilst they eagerly waited for a photo opportunity with the design duo.

The atmosphere  was buzzing, the beats were pumping and the Champagne was flowing. We went a little overboard with the canapés but apart from that it was an extremely enjoyable and successful evening! official launch event, Dubai.

L.O.V.E For Leger!

May 16th, 2013

We do L.O.V.E. our Sunday nights at OKKU and this week we got to experience a luxurious and unique fashion showcase featuring pieces from the Spring / Summer 13 collection from the Herve Leger By Max Azria.

The Herve Leger fashion house was founded in 1985 by the French designer Hervé L. Leroux and is most famous for designing the “body conscious” or ‘bandage dresses” where stretchy fabric is used to give emphasis to a woman’s figure.

It was great to have the chance to view the collection and the edgy, bold designs really captured the modern, powerful woman of today. From light greys to sharp blues, graphic shapes to intricate weaves the pieces were absolutely stunning.

Along with the eye candy our taste buds were also treated to the tastiest Japanese delicacies from an award winning menu. We particularly enjoyed the Salmon Tartar and the Hamachi Tataki Maki and we were spoilt for choice with ‘O’ style cocktails!

We would like to thank everybody that came down for making it a wonderful evening!

If you don’t know … HE knows!

October 30th, 2013

Dubai-based model and chef, Paul Frangie hosted a launch event for his new online lifestyle show, covering food, fitness, travel and style. The new show premiered, making a delicious debut on the outdoor terrace of the Maya Mexican Restaurant, Le Meridien Dubai Marina.

The event was sponsored by Cointreau, providing guests with delicious strawberry margaritas and cucumber and basil cocktails throughout the evening.

Guests included local personalities, artists and media professionals including Dubai’s own Spielberg – Ali Mostafa! Following a ‘soultastic’ performance by local singer Hamdan Abri, Paul gave the audience a brief speech about his journey and how the awesome and quirky brand name and idea came about.

To finish, everyone was treated to an exclusive screening of the first episode of the online series together with samples of food and canapés. We even got to take home a tasty mini-brownie!

Sept PR would like to thank everyone that came down and supported local talent! A launch has never tasted so sweet!

2014 – A Year for Travel

December 30th, 2013

With 2014 just a day away our thoughts turn to New Year’s resolutions.  For many of the Sept PR team our goal for the new year is to travel more and we wanted to share with you our most desired destinations to inspire you to do the same.

San Blas Islands, Panama

The San Blas Islands are a group of islands located just off the Caribbean coast of Eastern Panama. They are comprised of approximately 378 Islands, only 49 of which are inhabited. A haven for ancient ways, these magnificent islands are known for their breathtaking beauty and are popular for sailing trips. For a holiday that takes you back to basics, we recommend spending your days on the quiet, lazy beaches of Playón Chico, sampling the freshest sea food, or finding solace snorkeling in the tranquil waters. You can visit the indigenous Kuna Indians and at night choose to camp in this magical paradise where after dark, the moon and stars provide the only light.

Nairobi, Kenya

Kenya’s capital and the safari capital of the Africa, Nairobi  has become one of the continent’s largest, dynamic and most interesting cities.  The city has a boundless energy, and is thriving place with vibrancy and a melting pot of cultures.  This modern capital is surrounded by great wilderness that surrounds it and outside the city is Nairobi National Park, featuring 113 sq. km of plains, cliffs and forest.  The park is home to large herds of zebra, wildebeest, buffalo, giraffe rhino, cheetah, and a large number of Lions can all be found, living wild within 20 minutes of the center of Nairobi.

Stockholm, Sweden

Stockholm is often referred to as the ‘Venice of the North’ echoing the waterways and architecture of the Italian city.  Stockholm is fashionable and dynamic and seamlessly encompasses history and tradition with the height of new design and technology.  We love wandering around Gamla Stan ‘Old Town’ with its cobbled streets, outdoor cafes, shops and beautifully coloured houses in shades of gold, red and orange.  For shopping our top tip is to head to Södermalm, a district of small boutiques, and SoFo – the area south of Folkungagatan – is great for vintage fashion and design pieces.

Santorini, Greece

The volcanic island of Santorini off the coast of Greece is our ideal summer getaway featuring the ultimate mix of stunning architecture, crystal clear waters, energetic yet not chaotic nightlife, and divine cuisine. The Santorini and the surrounding islands are infamous for picturesque towns of cubed white-washed homes and blue-domed churches. Santoríni is especially famous for the towns of Firá and Oía, whose white and pastel-colored homes and churches, seemingly stacked on top of each other, are perched on the cliffs.

Puerto Viejo , Costa Rica

The Central American country of Costa Rica has abundant tourist attractions and ranked as one of the most visited destinations on the globe. In the northern sector of the country – our dream destination – the main attractions include the green tortoises nesting grounds along the beaches of the Tortugero National Park and the Barra del Colorado National Wildlife Refuge featuring stunning tropical plants. The area features an awesome mix of beach, natural beauty and Afro-Caribbean culture in the surrounding areas like Cahuita, Puerto Viejo, and Gandoca-Manzanillo. You’ll discover multi-coloured beaches where you can find a mix of activities including adventure and natural history, which uniquely complement the local culture, food, and music.

So pack your bags and jet off in 2014!

Sweat in Style!

January 6th, 2014

A New Year is with us and that inevitable goal to get fit and transform the body you’ve had in hibernation over the past month ready for the fast approaching bikini season.

One of our motivational tips to kick start your exercise regime is to treat yourself to cute workout gear that will help you get fit and stay looking fabulous. While none of us expect to look like a supermodel while we’re pounding away on the treadmill, feeling good while working out can help to boost your confidence, which can in turn help you to work harder and get better results.

One of the best parts of fitness clothing is that you don’t have to try hard, you can be creative to mix and match fun prints and colours. You can wear whatever it is that puts you in a good mood and makes you feel confident.

Within the Sept PR team we are all into range of sports and classes from running, yoga, body combat to our serious addiction to Physique 57. These are some of our current favourite pieces to sweat it out in. And remember, shopping also counts as cardio!

Bigger Bags are Best

January 8th, 2014

We all love it when a trend is not only aesthetically appealing but practical too. Most women adore an oversized bag which doesn’t only look fabulous but can also hold all of your essentials items, making them very useful! Big bags are versatile and are a great look from day to night. They look great whether you are heading out for a business meeting, shopping or just having a dinner with friends – the perfect accessory to any outfit.

All walks of fashionista can be seen carrying large clutches and totes from Olivia Palermo to Kourtney Kardashian and the list goes on. And each celebrity has their different take on the trend with Olivia looking chic with a tailored outfit and square clutch while Victoria Beckham pairs her oversized box bag with a slouchy knit for a more casual look.

Most designers have created their version of the oversized bag with popular designs coming from Celine and Hermes. Fendi designed a contrasting multi-coloured doctor bag in felted wool, pony skin and corduroy which has been seen among other designs this season. If you want to go bold and are a little more daring when it comes to style, Blumarine offer bean bag sized bags in a selection of neon colors.

Boost Your Skin this Season!

January 20th, 2014

With 2014 here it’s time to be thinking about healthy living! An area that is often overlooked is skin care, and with so many new products and treatments it can be difficult to know where to begin. Here are some handy tips and product information to kick start your 2014 beauty regime!

Start and end your day with the Liz Earle cleanse and polish which is a gentle cleanser and makes it easy to remove even the most stubborn make up. Follow this with a good moisturizer, L’Oreal has an extensive range of products that come in a variety of formulas for age and skin type. Remember to exfoliate or use a facemask twice a week to remove all the dead skin from your face which can often clog your pores. The Body Shop has a great vitamin E skincare range which is gentle on the skin and is available in both an exfoliator and face mask. For those puffy eyes after the party season use Elizabeth Arden visible difference moisturising eye cream to nourish the delicate skin under your eyes.

Daytime make-up should be simple and easy to achieve each morning. Clinique Anti Blemish Solution foundation and concealer acts as a good base but for those that prefer something lighter, use mineral powders or tinted moisturizers such as Bare Minerals powder or Chanel hydramax tinted moisturiser. YSL touche éclat is great at covering any dark circles under your eyes too. Finish off with a mineral blusher which will be light on your face, Neal’s Yard Remedies offer a range of colours in powder. For amazing yet simple make up tutorials visit Lisa Eldridge’s blog which has video tutorials and make up tips.

Obviously, a healthy lifestyle is important to having healthy skin so this New Year try to drink 8 glasses of water a day and eat lots of fruit and vegetables. When exercising make sure you have a shower afterwards (at least a quick rinse if you’re short on time) as by not doing so can clog pores and create spots – this is especially true on your back. Finally, try and allow some you time to relax, a good way of doing this is a few drops of lavender oil in a bath as stress can be one of the main causes of bad skin.

Valentine’s Day Gifts – A Guy’s Guide

February 13th, 2014

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and can pose a bit of a minefield when choosing a gift for that special man in your life. Men are notoriously hard to buy for and don’t always give much assistance with suggesting ideas for gifts. With this in mind, we spoke to the token male in the office and tasked him with cracking the code and coming up with a few ideas for what to get your man this Valentine’s Day:

Cleopatra’s Spa and Wellness in WAFI – I like to pretend that it is because I’m working in an office full of women and that their femininity has somehow rubbed off on me, but truth be told I’ve always loved spas! Even the most macho guy loves being pampered and what better way than indulging in a massage and a dip in a spa pool.

An ex-girlfriend of mine treated me to a day at Cleopatra’s spa in WIFI and it was amazing. I felt like Mark Anthony – the Shakespearean one not the Latin pop sensation / JLo’s ex-husband – and I didn’t want to leave. Check out the website for details and special Valentine’s Day offers.

MVMT watches – Buying a watch for a man can be tricky, as they vary immensely in style and size and reflect his personality. I personally don’t like chunky watches which weigh down the arm and look like they belong on the dash board of a spaceship, so these pieces from crowd-sourced initiative MVMT are ideal. They are simple, stylish and affordable and are shipped over from the US for free in a matter of days.

To celebrate Valentine’s Day, they are offering a 10% discount on all purchases. Log on to for details.

Givenchy Pour Homme Blue Label Aftershave – a bit of a cliché but aftershave is always a winner, as most guys will wear it every day (and some really should). I love Givenchy Pour Homme Blue Label, as girls have said I smell nice when I have worn it and that is the perfect barometer for me! I deviated from this recently and someone said I smelt like their dad, so I advise to stick with what you know!

Givenchy aftershave is available in most department stores and malls in Dubai.

DVDs – again a bit of a cliché, but us guys love a good TV series. Don’t tell anyone, but we are all partial to a bit of a download in Dubai, but what you don’t get with a download is all the fantastic special features loaded on as a bonus. From behind the scenes documentaries, deleted scenes and actor commentary, most box-sets are crammed with hours of interesting (for us anyway!) information.

There are some fantastic ones to choose from, but if you are looking for a timeless classic seek out Band of Brothers, which is basically Saving Private Ryan but across 10 episodes. For something more up to date get hold of Game of Thrones; one of the best shows on TV recently and packed full of interesting special features.

Virgin megastore located in malls across Dubai should be able to find you what you are looking for.

Phantom 2 Vision flying camera – My friend has recently purchased one of these which is basically a camera attached to a mini-helicopter and the pictures have been awesome. Capable of recording video and taking pictures up to an altitude of over 600 metres, the Phantom 2 Vision is packed full of special features including an in-built GPS so it flies back to a specific location if it goes out of range.

For more details log onto or email the local supplier “Ultimate Hobby” on

Hopefully this blog post has inspired you to find that perfect gift and we wish you a Valentine’s Day full of romance!

We’re Head Over Heels for Statement Shoes this Season

March 6th, 2014

“A woman can carry a bag but it’s the shoe that carries the woman – Christian Louboutin” A master in both words and all things shoes. We are true believers here in the office that the statement shoe is an ingenious item for any wardrobe and its showiness is exactly what makes it so versatile. A show stopper of a heel will turn an all-black, inconspicuous outfit into a paparazzi’s dream.

For those of you more daring and playful with fashion like myself then I highly recommend to go all out and wear them with a riot of colour and patterns, creating a total mish-mash. It’s all about having fun and let’s face it, if you have a pair of statement shoes on the are chances are you aren’t trying to hide under the radar so just go all out.
The brilliant news is that it’s not just about heels either – although there are never ending amounts of fabulous pairs. Fashionistas can swap their stilettos for far more practical pairs of slippers, sneakers, preppy mannish loafers and tough-girl boots but still look hot to trot.

It was a hard job but someone had to do it and I slaved away to bring you some of the hottest heels around this season.

1) Pollini 2) Carven 3) Zara 4) Maison Martin Margiela 5) Jimmy Choo 6) Nicholas Kirkwood for Erdem 7) Charlotte Olympia 8)Sophia Webster 9) Miu Miu

City Socialistas Enjoy Cielo Sunset

April 9th, 2014

This month we saw the launch of Cielo Sky Lounge where the VIP crowd gathered to celebrate in style at the Dubai Creek Marina. The glittering event saw the city’s social set, party the night away while overlooking the stunning waters of the Creek, with panoramic views across Dubai’s cityscape. Guests enjoyed innovative cocktail creations created by an award-winning team, a delicious mix of tapas canapés, and live beats from DJ Carlos and international DJ & Producer Sylvain Armand.

With crowds queuing around the building, the must-attend event saw Dubai’s celebrated fashion, music, media and industry leaders in attendance, including DJs, TV presenters and fashion designers.

Delicious canapés were served to guests such as cured and marinated sea bass with fresh tomato and olive tapenade, brochette of chicken, chilled shots of almond and tomato soup, paella, mushroom croquettes and beef bacon wrapped dates. These were all accompanied by refreshing cocktails, such as Agua de Valencia – the Spanish version of Mimosa featuring Cava, Paloma – the classic Mexican drink featuring tequila, fresh grapefruit juice, sugar and soda, G&T Cucumber and Rosemary – a Cielo special and Batida Fresa – classic Brazilian drink featuring rum, strawberry and coconut.

Say Hello to Sunshine!

May 22nd, 2014

This week our intern, Fatima Anwar took to writing a blog post about finding her perfect pair of sunglasses and here’s what she found…

Living in a city that hosts the largest mall and the biggest brands in the world it’s quite normal to find yourself browsing for hours. This weekend I was caught enjoying shopping in Dubai but this time it wasn’t about clothes, shoes or jewellery instead I wanted to find the perfect pair of sunglasses. I tried hundreds of sunglasses on until I found the perfect pair. To avoid you doing the same, today I will share with you what I learnt through my three day exploration.

Apart from protecting our eyes, sunglasses play a huge role in modifying our identity and glamourising our looks. With the enormous growth in fashion industry there is a remarkable change in the designs and colours available that complement our face shape and our style perfectly.

Whether you have a wide forehead, apple cheeks or pointed chin there is a style for everyone. A prominent jawline and a broad forehead are typical characteristics of a square shaped face. Celebrities like Angelina Jolie are often spotted in round sunglasses as they beautifully complement the square face features.

A round face signifies proportionate jawline and forehead with cheeks being the widest area on the face, giving you a youthful appearance. For such faces aviators and wayfarers are always the best choices. This summer black and bold Raybans and mirrored sunglasses with vibrant blue, sunshine yellow, fiery orange and soothing blue are on trend.

The obvious features of a heart shaped face are narrow jaw and high cheekbones with a wide forehead. Aviators are the safest option for you but I would always recommend the fashionistas to indulge in Marilyn Monroe cat-eye sunglasses.  Extremely in fashion, the upward angle of the frame will harmoniously complement your jaw line.

Oval face shape is the ideal face shape due to its perfect proportions with prominent cheekbones. Whether, aviators, D- shaped, round or cat-eyed- these lucky people can carry all styles flawlessly. Just play around a little and you might find the perfect pair for yourself.

This summer embrace the sun with your rose tinted shades. Always remember your sunglasses never go unnoticed, so deck yourself up with a pair that speaks volumes about you.

Summer Days in Dubai

June 10th, 2014

Things are heating up in the Sept PR office! Temperatures are rising fast in Dubai and the intense summer sunshine calls for effortless, easy dressing whilst still exuding amazing style. We decided to share some of our picks of the latest summer trends, from cute romantic, to tailored chic, to Ramadan covers ups, taking Dubai fashionistas from office meetings to beachfront sundowners.

If you are a lover of the pretty romantic trend, think Isabel Marant, Chloe and Dolce & Gabbana – floral print dresses, lace sleeve t-shirts, tailored cotton shorts and satin camis are must have items this summer; wear with strappy heels or sandles in earthy tones and a stylish tote to take you naturally from day to night.

Those wishing for a tailored desk to dinner look should channel Alexander Wang and Michael Kors, teaming our go to item – the cropped trouser with a silk shirt, or opting for a seamless shirt dress for smart-summer couture; add a bright colored court shoe and statement clutch and you’re ready to rock work and play.

Keep your cool and respect the traditions of the Holy Month of Ramadan with loose fitting trousers and beautiful blouses both on our agenda this July. Float with ease through the soaring heat with a relaxed yet glam kaftan, stick to cottons, silks and breathable materials to stay elegant, tasteful and cool in the summer sun.

Summer frills are an essential part of any outfit; whether you’re a fan of gold or silver it’s all in the details – pastel shade gemstones, design your own charm bracelets and chain link luxe will take any outfit from fun to fabulous.

We have chosen some of our summer favorites below… happy shopping!

Fall 2014 Men’s Trends Wish List

July 31st, 2014

Starting off with a classic, it’s fall’s favorite neutral. You can go gray for the complete look taking advantage of its different shades (yes, we all know there are at least 50 of them) or rather as a base to play with. For the mild winter of the Middle East the silk and cashmere Brunello Cucinelli double-breasted jacket comes as a superb coating option, and the chest pocket adds the opportunity for some color with a lively handkerchief. I’m in love with the woven leather vamp in the Bottega Veneta driver, a clever mix of driving and boat shoe.

And some good news for workoutaholics and hoarders alike – big bags are back. Like the Santiago Gonzalez genuine crocodile duffle bag. Also, extra-large, pashmina-like swathes of fabric, that GQ magazine cleverly named “manket”. Consider the Alexander McQueen felt blanket scarf that offers many ways to drape, wrap, and knot.

This very special ankle boot made it to most of the men’s runway shows in London, Milan and Paris. Change the clothes and keep the boots on, because their versatility allows you to dress up a more casual get-up, like denim, and dress down an uptight suit, for an especially cool and still smart look for work.

You can’t go wrong with these Jimmy Choo Linton men’s leather boots that come with a very classy brogue trim, also a strong trend in this year’s shows. And from Prada another bold option would be the burnished leather double-buckle boot, in a beautiful coffee color that always looks good in the fall.

Checks transitioned from last fall, so you might be in luck if you already made the investment a year ago. Trousers are particularly devoted to in this trend, and we will see patterned slacks taking the streets more than ever. Now, the best part is that they are here to mix! (but never, never match.) I can’t wait to put my hands on these Etro checked skinny wool trousers – they are a particularly tasteful epitome of the trend. Givenchy took it to the accessories, giving us a cool (and ultra-functional) obsedia men’s plaid wool backpack. The final proof this style is no longer relegated to the classroom.

And for the unafraid, the tonal signature Alexander McQueen skull jacquard represents the definite must-have of the season, especially if you consider that blue hues will also be very hip in the fall. And what goes best with it? The Chelsea boots, of course!

All products available at

1. Brunello Cucinelli 2. Bottega Veneta 3. Santiago Gonzalez 4. Alexander McQueen 5. Jimmy Choo 6. Prada 7. Givenchy 8. Etro 9. Alexander McQueen

Summer Days with Blue Hues

September 30th, 2014

Luxury jewelry brand IPPOLITA has delighted us with a refreshing collection for this beach season. Inspired by the sizzling summers on the coast of Italy, Ippolita’s designs naturally convey the atmosphere of those warm and peaceful everlasting summer days, with the azure waters of the Mediterranean Sea as a constant backdrop.

It comes as no surprise that such background marks IPPOLITA’s latest collection, favoring blue as one of the most cherished tones. Because it matches various other colors, it makes it easy to coordinate with other jewelry and many ensemble options.
